Typography Project

What the Project Was

The project was our names typed out in a font and had to point out specific things about the font and name them. We created lines showing the capital line, the x-line, and the base-line. The project wasn't that bad unless you didn't have all of the names of the serifs. We used the line tool to make the lines, the text tool for text, and the line tool for the arrows.

What I Learned

I learned more about how to operate adobe illustrators tools. I also learned a lot about serif, sans-serif, and how fonts can effect how things seem or look like. I got to use line tools and how to make them dashed instead of a solid line. Illustrator is primary used for graphic design and art.

How it went

The project was average, but it would be more difficult without the all of the serif cheat sheet basically. Also it was a bit harder since our teacher was gone on friday but other than that the project was an average project.

Logo color schemes

Analogous

This logo uses the analogous colors of green, yellow-green, yellow, and white. I think the company probably chose these colors because the colors are very pleasant to the eyes.

This logo uses the analogous colors of red, red-violet, violet, blue-violet, and a kind of shade of cyan. I think the company probably chose these colors because the colors because wine has many colors in the shade of red and purple.

Complementary

This logo uses the complementary colors of purple and orange. I think the company probably chose these colors because the colors stand out to one another so the company has more recognition.

This logo uses the complementary colors of purple and yellow. I think the company probably chose these colors because the colors make the dog pop out so maybe they thought they're team "pops out".

Cool

This logo uses the cool colors of light blue and blue. I think the company probably chose these colors because the colors because they want to show how "cool" their wine is so they use the cool colors.

This logo uses the cool colors of light blue and blue. I think the company probably chose these colors because the colors represent of the colors of the sky which you will most likely see once your outside.

Monochromatic

This logo uses the monochromatic colors of green, yellow-green, and a darker shade of green. I think the company probably chose these colors because the colors represent grass or plants and animals are in the environment.

This logo uses the monochromatic colors of brown and orange. I think the company probably chose these colors because the color of root beer is brown and slightly lighter brown and thats what they're known for.

Triad

This logo uses the Triad colors of red, yellow, and blue. I think the company probably chose these colors because red and yellow are colors that make you hungry and blue is just there.

This logo uses the Triad colors of red, yellow, and blue. I think the company probably chose these colors because the colors pop out from one another making super mans logo pop out.

Warm

This logo uses the Warm colors of red and yellow. I think the company probably chose these colors because red and yellow make you more hungry and lays is very gooood.

This logo uses the Warm colors of red and yellow. I think the company probably chose these colors because red and yellow make people more hungry which means more sales for McDonalds, so more money.

Color Wheel Project

What the Project Was

In E-Comm we were learning about color theory so in the application Adobe Illustrator I made a color wheel. (see below) The project wasn't that bad and not that hard. I used the shape tool and the text tool to make most of the wheel, the shape tool for shapes (obviously) and the text tool for naming the colors. The solid triangle shows the primary colors and the dashed triangle shows the secondary colors.

What I Learned

I learned about color theory and what primary and secondary colors were. I also learned how to operate Adobe Illustrator. Tools in Illustrator were easy to use and simple to operate. Illustrator is a application that is used primarily for graphic design. An easy way to complete the project is to use option then drag the shapes to copy them. Primary colors are Red, Yellow, and Blue, while secondary colors are primary colors combined to make other colors. Secondary colors are Green, Orange, and Violet.

How it went

The pretty easy, so nothing was that hard, pretty average project. I wouldn't do much differently, the shortcut keys really helped out during the whole thing so it wasn't that hard. I would like to learn more about illustrator and how to operate it.
